Stern-Spiegel

25. März 2012

Mal wieder ein ikea-hack 😉
Another ikea hack 🙂

This was my inspiration (for € 248, reduced to € 148)

The shopping list: the grundtal mirror from ikea (€ 25), 8 round strips of wood (1cm diameter) and two cans of white spray paint

Hier die Arbeitsschritte:
The steps:

Spiegel auspacken
unpacking the mirror

Spiegel abkleben
taping off the mirror

Leisten auf Gährung sägen
cutting the ends of the wood pieces

Erstes verleimen der Leisten
first gluing of the wood pieces

Ausklinken der Leisten
notching the wood pieces

Komplett verleimen der Leisten
second gluing of the woof pieces

Leimüberschuss mit dem Bastel-Skalpell entfernen
removing the exces glue with a crafting knife

Lackierkammer einrichten
setting up a spraypainting booth

Nägel als Lackier-Abstandhalter einschlagen
hammering in nails as distance pieces

spray painting (several thin layers) – both sides of the wood pieces or you will see it reflected in the mirror

Spiegel an die Wand
putting the mirror on the wall

Afterwards attaching the wood pieces (with doubles sided tape on three spots so it can be removed for cleaning), it is easy to align them since the mirror is allready hanging on the wall.

Fertig
done

Irgendwie zu niedrig also neue Löcher
somehow it is too low, so new holes

Fertig
done

The result: really happy with the mirror, but it looks stupid on that wall… We will see where it ends up, but it does look great in front of the blue and grey downstairs 😉
